That composite is also supported and augmented with the Hogan assessment. The coach uses those interviews to create a composite of how this leader shows up. The executive coach interviews those folks for thirty to forty-five minutes. She identifies three people she works with, plus her manager. The ASPIRE leader puts together her inventory of interviewees. Then we do 360 interviews to assess leadership impact. We use the Hogan instrument to help leaders reflect and understand how they show up as leaders. It starts with an intentional period of self-reflection. Kruse: What is the structure of the program?īarry: Each cohort goes through about an eight-month experience. Program Design: Assessments, Executive Coaching, Capstone, and IDPs Then, they're vetted through HR and signed off by the senior executive team. First, leaders get recommended by their managers. We see great potential in them to continue to do well and to be future leaders who take on more responsibility. These are strategic operators who’ve delivered great outcomes. We look for operational leaders who are already successful in their own right. They’re all Director level and selected based on where they sit in the organization. On a strategic level, I try to stay close to leadership development. So, I helped build ASPIRE to formalize the pairing of female talent with coaches. I've seen the power of pairing strong female talent with strong female coaches. When I saw a need to build our bench of female talent within Commercial, I started ASPIRE. One of the components of these strong teams is diversity and a female executive presence. And as an executive leader, I've had the privilege of leading strong teams. How did you end up initiating this pilot?īarry: I've benefited throughout my own career from executive coaching and executive advocacy. It’s part of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategy, as well as part of our learning strategy. Part of that is consistency around diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
